As the Procurement Specialist in this role you will be managing the Procurement process for multiple programs and departments across various commodities and supply chains, lending your expertise and knowledge of Supply Chain and the Procurement process to help programs execute on their schedule goals while maintaining cost and ensuring engineering and quality requirements are met by the suppliers. This role will be based in Luling, TX.

As the Procurement Specialist in this role you will be managing the Procurement process for multiple programs and departments across various commodities and supply chains, lending your expertise and knowledge of Supply Chain and the Procurement process to help programs execute on their schedule goals while maintaining cost and ensuring engineering and quality requirements are met by the suppliers. Working with cross-functional and interdepartmental teams, you will help to improve processes, manage a complex supply base, and ensure compliance to various regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Procure components, materials, and complex assemblies, supporting diverse programs, product lines, and customer needs.
  • Directly communicate status updates, action plans, and recovery strategies with program, planning, and operations teams.
  • Partner with Quality and Engineering to develop procurement requirements and terms and conditions for the procurement of specialized materials, equipment, and/or services.
  • Manage the procurement lifecycle from requisition to purchase order closeout, including sourcing, negotiation, awarding, oversight, tracking, acceptance, and payment.
  • Represent the organization in meetings with internal and external stakeholders to manage specific projects or procurements.
  • Identify opportunities to consolidate purchasing volume and streamline procurement process through long term and blanket ordering agreements, and execute and manage those agreements.
  • Develop and implement strategies for on-time delivery (OTD) execution, material cost reduction, lead time improvements, supplier rationalization, and working capital optimization.
  • Resolve procurement discrepancies in collaboration with accounting, suppliers, and other internal departments.
  • Any other assigned tasks to support a growing manufacturing startup with an evolving supply chain.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related discipline with 4+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in Aerospace and Defense industry, or other highly regulated manufacturing market.
  • Knowledge of FAR, DFARS, and International Trade Compliance .
  • Experience working within an ISO9001 or AS9100 Quality Management System.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Project as well as other information systems/data management
  • Travel up to 15%
