We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to support the development of ruggedized HVAC cooling systems for advanced defense applications. This role offers the opportunity to work on mission-critical systems that must perform in some of the world’s harshest environments.
As part of a multidisciplinary engineering team, you’ll design and validate corrosion-resistant thermal management solutions, leveraging Digital Engineering tools such as SolidWorks, Creo, and DOORS. This position is ideal for an engineer who enjoys tackling complex design challenges, optimizing system reliability, and advancing cutting-edge defense technologies.
What You’ll Do
- Design and develop HVAC cooling systems for sensitive radar/sensor platforms.
- Select and validate advanced materials, coatings, and surface treatments to maximize durability.
- Produce detailed CAD models, drawings, and technical documentation.
- Collaborate with systems and software engineers to integrate monitoring and control functions.
- Participate in design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR) and support prototype testing.
- Apply Digital Engineering and MBSE practices to ensure traceability and system compliance.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
- 8+ years of mechanical design experience in HVAC, thermal management, defense, aerospace, or maritime systems.
- Strong proficiency with CAD tools (SolidWorks, Creo).
- Experience with requirements management tools (DOORS or equivalent).
- Deep knowledge of materials, coatings, and corrosion-resistant design.
- U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain a Security Clearance.
Preferred Experience
- Designing HVAC systems for maritime or radar/sensor applications.
- Knowledge of Army or Missile Defense Agency programs.
- Familiarity with MBSE tools (Cameo, SysML).
- Hands-on prototype or field test experience
