We are recruiting a Systems Engineer to support the modernization and sustainment of mission-critical ground-based radar systems in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

This is an opportunity to work on complex systems supporting Missile Warning, Missile Defense, and Space Domain missions, collaborating with software, hardware, test, and other engineering disciplines to introduce new technologies while maintaining critical operational capabilities.

The Systems Engineer will help translate customer and mission requirements into practical system-level solutions, balancing technical performance, schedule, cost, interfaces, and lifecycle considerations.

What You’ll Be Doing

In this role, you may be involved across the systems engineering lifecycle, including:

  • Requirements definition, analysis, allocation, and engineering.
  • Translating customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
  • Functional and system analysis.
  • System architecture and design.
  • Interface definition and data architecture.
  • Trade studies and analyses of alternatives.
  • Concept of Operations (CONOPS) development.
  • System integration.
  • Verification and validation.
  • Operational performance analysis.
  • Decision analysis.
  • Physical Configuration Analysis (PCA).
  • Lifecycle cost analysis and estimation.
  • Identifying capability gaps and developing technical solutions.
  • Supporting modernization efforts that transition new technologies into existing operational radar environments.
  • Collaborating across hardware, software, test, and other technical teams.

Depending on your background, the work may also involve digital engineering, infrastructure management, automation, identity and access management, data storage, operating systems, monitoring, and other supporting technologies.

What We’re Looking For

To be considered, you should have:

  • A bachelor’s degree in a STEM field, with Systems Engineering preferred.
  • Relevant professional experience in systems engineering or a closely related technical discipline.
  • Experience applying engineering principles across areas such as research, analysis, hardware/software/systems design, testing, or operations.
  • The ability to analyze mission or user needs, understand existing system capabilities, and identify technical gaps.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • An active Secret security clearance or the ability to obtain one.

Preferred Experience

We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
  • Creating system architectures across multiple engineering disciplines.
  • DoD Architecture Framework (DoDAF).
  • Requirements engineering and management.
  • Systems integration, verification, and validation.
  • Trade studies and analyses of alternatives.
  • Developing integrated technical modernization plans and technology roadmaps.
  • Taking technology from concept through implementation.
  • Digital engineering and digital transformation.
  • Modernizing legacy radar or other complex mission systems.
  • Test & Evaluation within missile defense, missile warning, space surveillance, or related environments.
  • Working with government stakeholders and communicating technical plans to senior leadership.
  • Agile development environments.

Experience with UEWR, PARCS, Missile Defense System (MDS), Integrated Tactical Warning/Attack Assessment (ITW/AA), Space Surveillance Network (SSN), SENSOR, or SMORS would be particularly relevant.

Why Consider This Opportunity?

This is systems engineering where the decisions you make have a direct connection to operational capability.

You’ll have the opportunity to work across requirements, architecture, integration, modernization, and technical analysis while helping evolve sophisticated radar systems supporting national defense and space missions.

If you’re a Systems Engineer who enjoys solving complex, multidisciplinary problems and wants to work on systems where reliability and technical performance genuinely matter, we’d like to hear from you.
