We are currently recruiting for a HAZOPS Engineering Lead in Luling, TX to lead hazard analysis (HAZOPS) and Process Safety Management (PSM) initiatives within a high-impact manufacturing environment. This onsite role is ideal for experienced engineers with a background in energetic materials, offering the opportunity to drive safety standards, lead cross-functional teams, and ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, MIL-STD-882, and DoD regulations. We are currently recruiting for a HAZOPS Engineering Lead to oversee hazard analysis and process safety initiatives at a facility in Luling, TX. This role is critical in ensuring the safe design, operation, and continuous improvement of processes involving energetic materials. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, technical expertise, and a proactive approach to risk management and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • HAZOPS Leadership & Governance
  • Lead the HAZOPS board and facilitate cross-functional hazard analysis reviews.
  • Establish and maintain policies, procedures, and standards for hazard identification, risk assessment, and mitigation.
  • Oversee the adjudication of safety waivers and provide guidance on regulatory interpretations.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives aligned with industry best practices.
  • Process Safety Management (PSM)
    • Champion Process Safety Management programs and ensure ongoing effectiveness.
    • Monitor, analyze, and report on safety performance metrics.
  • Act as a key liaison between the HAZOPS board and manufacturing teams.
  • Ensure hazard analysis outcomes are effectively integrated into operational workflows and procedures.
  • Collaboration & Reporting
  • Partner closely with engineering, operations, and compliance teams to promote a strong safety culture.
  • Provide regular updates and strategic insights to the Director of Safety.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Physics (required)
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience working with energetic materials
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proven leadership capabilities and experience leading cross-functional teams
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant safety and regulatory standards, including:
  • MIL-STD-882
  • DoD 4145
  • OSHA
  • NFPA
