Our team is seeking an experienced Linux Systems Administrator to support secure enterprise systems and high-performance computing environments in Huntsville, Alabama.
Key Responsibilities
Architect & Deploy
- Design and securely deploy Linux workstations, enterprise servers, and HPC clusters
- Manage full system lifecycle from provisioning through sustainment
Filesystem Management
- Administer local and remote filesystems
- Ensure data integrity and high-speed network access
Automation & Infrastructure as Code
- Develop automation scripts using Shell and Python
- Implement configuration management using Ansible
Security Hardening
- Configure and maintain advanced firewall implementations
- Develop and manage SELinux policies
- Enforce system security best practices
Containerization & Modernization
- Deploy and manage containerized environments using Docker, Podman, and Apptainer
HPC Administration & Optimization
- Maintain and optimize HPC clusters using tools such as Bright, Slurm, and xCAT
Networking
- Configure and optimize Linux networking services for high-bandwidth environments
Documentation
- Develop and maintain system documentation, operational playbooks, and configuration baselines
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related STEM field
- Active DoD Top Secret clearance with eligibility for SCI
- Ability to obtain and maintain SAP eligibility
- Active Security+ CE, SSCP, or equivalent DoD 8570 baseline certification
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Extensive professional experience administering Linux systems (RHEL preferred)
- Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware and software stacks
- Proven ability to resolve complex system bottlenecks
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
