We are seeking an experienced MBSE to join a high-performing engineering team supporting the development of complex defense and technology systems. This role focuses on ensuring system-level hardware and software compatibility, performance, and lifecycle readiness using Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Digital Engineering practices.
Position Overview
The Systems MBSE Engineer is responsible for coordinating system development activities including design, integration, verification, validation, and transition to production. This role develops and manages system requirements, specifications, and architectures while maintaining technical rigor and configuration integrity throughout the system lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and manage system requirements and architecture baselines using MBSE and Digital Engineering methodologies.
- Decompose customer and stakeholder requirements into functional, behavioral, and allocated system requirements.
- Define use cases; perform functional decomposition; establish interfaces; and support verification, validation, and traceability activities.
- Create, analyze, and maintain system models using MBSE tools (e.g., Cameo) to support architecture development, integration, and design verification.
- Develop and maintain programmatic and technical documentation to support planning, execution, and configuration management.
- Collaborate with systems, design, program, and customer-facing teams to develop system engineering deliverables.
- Support system configuration management and ensure integrity of requirement and model baselines.
- Contribute to the development and adoption of systems engineering policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Support transitions from development into production.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a STEM-related discipline with demonstrated systems engineering experience.
- 8+ years of experience in requirements management, analysis, and allocation.
- 5+ years of experience using Systems Modeling Language (SysML).
- Familiarity with the DoD Architecture Framework (DoDAF).
- Solid understanding of the Systems Engineering V-Model.
- Experience with Digital Engineering practices and supporting toolsets.
- Proficiency with requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS, Jama) and MBSE tools (e.g., Cameo).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to travel as required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense Secret security clearance.
