We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced NDT Level III Technician / Engineer to lead and oversee all aspects of X-Ray and CT Scan Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) operations within a high-reliability manufacturing environment.
This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining radiographic and CT inspection procedures, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and providing technical leadership to support product quality and material integrity. The position works closely with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure the highest standards of reliability and regulatory compliance.
This position is on-site, with occasional travel required.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership
- Develop, review, and approve X-Ray and CT Scan NDT procedures, techniques, and work instructions in accordance with industry standards (ASNT, NAS 410, ASTM, ISO).
- Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for radiographic and CT NDT methods and technologies.
- Provide technical oversight to ensure compliance with customer, regulatory, and internal requirements.
Inspection & Testing
- Oversee and perform advanced X-Ray and CT inspections to detect and evaluate defects in materials, components, and assemblies.
- Interpret radiographic and CT results in accordance with applicable codes and specifications.
- Ensure proper calibration, maintenance, and operation of radiographic and CT equipment.
- Utilize digital radiography (DR), computed radiography (CR), and advanced CT imaging systems.
Training & Certification
- Mentor and develop Level I and Level II NDT personnel.
- Conduct periodic evaluations and re-certifications to ensure competency.
- Develop and deliver training programs to strengthen team capability.
Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure all NDT activities comply with applicable industry standards and radiation safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, certifications, and equipment calibration.
- Prepare detailed technical reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Safety & Risk Management
- Implement and enforce radiation safety protocols.
- Conduct risk assessments and deploy mitigation strategies related to radiographic operations.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Materials Science, or related technical field preferred (equivalent experience considered).
Experience
- Minimum 10 years of NDT experience, including 5+ years specializing in X-Ray and CT methods.
- Prior certification as an NDT Level III in Radiographic Testing (RT) and CT in accordance with ASNT SNT-TC-1A, NAS 410, or equivalent standards.
Technical Expertise
- In-depth knowledge of radiographic and CT NDT principles, techniques, and equipment.
- Experience interpreting ASME, ASTM, ISO, MIL-STD, and related codes.
- Proficiency with digital radiography (DR), computed radiography (CR), and CT imaging systems.
- Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and defect mechanisms.
Certifications
- ASNT Level III certification in Radiographic Testing (RT) and CT (or equivalent such as NAS 410).
- Radiation safety certification or regulatory training.
Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
