The qualified candidate will lead cross-functional teams in developing system-level architectures and requirements to influence incremental system capabilities across multiple mission areas. This position involves leveraging Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) to evaluate architectural impacts and assess functional and behavioral performance for the defeat of advanced and emerging threats, including ballistic, aero-maneuvering, hypersonic, and countermeasure systems.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Lead system architecture development and requirements definition for complex defense systems.
Apply MBSE principles to assess functional, interface, and performance impacts across systems and components.
Conduct system-of-systems trade studies and analyses to inform architectural decisions.
Develop and maintain Change Notices (CNs) for system specifications, including functional, interface, and performance requirements.
Define and maintain architectural models and interface definitions.
Support traceability verification between system-level and element-level requirements.
Prepare and deliver technical briefings, documentation, and analysis products to internal and external stakeholders.
Collaborate across disciplines to ensure technical consistency and alignment with overall system objectives.
Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. degree in Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics required.
Proven experience in architecture development, functional decomposition, and allocation of performance, functional, and interface requirements using system modeling tools.
Strong background in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) using tools such as Cameo (MSOSA) and DOORS.
Demonstrated experience in one or more relevant mission domains such as intercept systems, space sensors, fire control, command and control, or sensor integration (EO/IR/RF).
Experience leading small teams and collaborating in cross-functional environments.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Expertise in MBSE methodologies, system modeling, and architectural analysis.
Ability to perform trade studies and document results effectively.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience creating and presenting complex technical material.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced engineering environment.
Security Clearance Requirements
Active DoD Secret Clearance required (Top Secret preferred).
