Our client, a rapidly growing aerospace and defense manufacturer, is seeking an accomplished Vice President of Information Technology & Cybersecurity to lead the development of a world-class global IT organization supporting operations across the United States, Europe, and Australia.
This is a unique opportunity to build an enterprise technology organization during a pivotal stage of growth. Reporting directly to the CEO, this executive will serve as both the strategic technology leader and cybersecurity executive, helping position the organization for continued expansion, increasing government business, and future classified operations.
The Opportunity
This role extends well beyond traditional IT leadership. The successful candidate will develop and execute the company’s global technology strategy while ensuring its information systems, cybersecurity posture, and enterprise platforms support advanced manufacturing, engineering, business operations, and stringent U.S. government compliance requirements.
Working closely with executive leadership, this individual will play a critical role in transforming the organization’s technology infrastructure into one capable of supporting long-term growth within the aerospace and defense industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a global IT and cybersecurity strategy aligned with business growth objectives.
- Lead enterprise technology operations supporting manufacturing, engineering, finance, quality, human resources, and corporate functions.
- Build and mature an enterprise-class IT organization capable of supporting a rapidly expanding aerospace and defense business.
- Lead cybersecurity initiatives, including CMMC Level 2 certification, NIST SP 800-171 compliance, ITAR, Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI), and other government security requirements.
- Prepare the organization for future classified (SECRET-level) operations and secure information environments.
- Optimize Epicor ERP and related enterprise systems while driving digital transformation initiatives across the business.
- Develop long-term technology roadmaps supporting manufacturing automation, digital infrastructure, data governance, business intelligence, and operational excellence.
- Evaluate the current technology organization and recommend the optimal mix of internal resources, managed service providers, and strategic technology partners.
- Develop annual IT operating and capital budgets while advising executive leadership on technology investments and cybersecurity risk.
Qualified candidates will bring:
- U.S. Citizenship (required).
- Active SECRET Security Clearance or the ability to obtain one.
- Ten or more years of progressive IT leadership experience within aerospace, defense, advanced manufacturing, or government environments.
- Experience leading enterprise technology organizations supporting multiple locations and international operations.
- Demonstrated success implementing or managing manufacturing ERP platforms such as Epicor, SAP, Oracle, Infor, Microsoft Dynamics, IFS, or comparable systems.
- Strong experience with cybersecurity governance, CMMC, NIST SP 800-171, ITAR, CUI, and related compliance frameworks.
- Experience leading digital transformation initiatives within complex manufacturing organizations.
- Executive presence with the ability to communicate technology strategy and cybersecurity risk to senior leadership and Boards of Directors.
- A hands-on leadership style with the ability to both develop strategy and build organizational capability.
