The Opportunity

We are recruiting a Network Engineer to support the modernization and sustainment of mission-critical ground-based radar systems in Colorado Springs, CO.

This is an opportunity to work in a highly technical environment supporting systems associated with Missile Warning, Missile Defense, and Space Domain missions. You’ll work alongside systems, software, hardware, cyber, logistics, and test engineering professionals to maintain operational capability while helping introduce new technologies into complex radar environments.

The Network Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and maintaining secure and reliable network infrastructure. The role combines hands-on network engineering and troubleshooting with architecture, documentation, security, and modernization activities.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll support network infrastructure across LAN and WAN environments, including the configuration and maintenance of routers, switches, firewalls, and related network equipment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices.
  • Monitor network performance, availability, bandwidth, and uptime.
  • Diagnose and resolve LAN/WAN connectivity and performance issues.
  • Support network installations, upgrades, and equipment relocations.
  • Implement and maintain VPN solutions for secure remote access.
  • Conduct network security assessments and implement appropriate protective measures.
  • Assist with the design and documentation of network architectures and topologies.
  • Configure VLANs and network segmentation.
  • Develop and maintain IP addressing and subnetting schemes.
  • Maintain network diagrams, configurations, and technical documentation.
  • Use tools such as Wireshark and SolarWinds for traffic analysis, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
  • Support firmware and software upgrades across network equipment.
  • Assist with network redundancy and disaster recovery planning.
  • Monitor logs for security and performance issues.
  • Support QoS configurations and network traffic prioritization.
  • Troubleshoot hardware failures and recommend appropriate solutions or replacements.
  • Maintain backups of network configurations to support rapid recovery.
  • Support VoIP systems and applications as required.
  • Collaborate with vendors and other engineering disciplines to resolve complex technical issues.

What We’re Looking For

To be considered, you should have:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field; an advanced degree is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • The ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary engineering teams and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce clear technical documentation.
  • The ability to work daily/on-site in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • An active Secret security clearance or the ability to obtain one.

Preferred Experience

We’re particularly interested in candidates with 4+ years of professional network engineering or related experience and backgrounds involving some of the following:

  • Network architecture, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Routers, switches, firewalls, VLANs, VPNs, LAN/WAN environments, IP addressing, and subnetting.
  • Network security and access controls.
  • Wireshark, SolarWinds, or comparable network monitoring and analysis tools.
  • Wireless network deployment and maintenance.
  • Network redundancy and disaster recovery.
  • Hardware and software/firmware upgrades.
  • QoS configuration and traffic management.
  • Requirements definition and allocation across hardware and software components.
  • Working within Agile/Scrum engineering environments.
  • Experience supporting DoD, government, aerospace, radar, missile warning/defense, or other complex mission-critical systems.

Why Consider This Opportunity?

This position offers the chance to work on large-scale, operational radar systems where network reliability, security, and performance directly matter to the mission.

Rather than supporting a conventional enterprise network, you’ll be working alongside multiple engineering disciplines on the continued sustainment and modernization of sophisticated systems supporting national defense and space missions.

If you’re a Network Engineer who enjoys solving complex infrastructure problems and wants your work to have a tangible mission impact, we’d like to hear from you.

Salary Range: $60,000 – $108,000 annually

Compensation within the stated range will depend on factors such as experience, qualifications, and alignment with the requirements of the position.
