This role is responsible for procurement, supplier management, and sourcing of engineered equipment, spare parts, chemicals, materials, and services to ensure efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with company standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supply chain management, ERP systems, and strategic sourcing for industrial operations.
Responsibilities
· Manage the procurement process for engineered equipment, spare parts, operational chemicals, and services.
· Develop and implement sourcing strategies to optimize costs, quality, and delivery timelines.
· Utilize electronic data interchange (EDI) and e-procurement systems to enhance purchasing efficiency.
· Conduct market analysis and risk assessments to mitigate supply chain disruptions.
· Obtain and evaluate bids, quotes, and proposals, ensuring the best overall value for the company.
· Collaborate with engineering teams, suppliers, and contractors to coordinate material sourcing and logistics.
· Establish and monitor supplier performance metrics, taking corrective actions as needed.
· Manage purchase orders, inventory tracking, and procurement documentation within ERP software (Oracle/JD Edwards EnterpriseOne).
· Ensure compliance with company policies, contracts, and industry regulations.
· Support department initiatives and provide guidance to junior purchasing team members..
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or Supply Management (required).
· 6+ years of progressive experience in purchasing and supply management, preferably in refinery, petrochemical, or chemical processing industries.
· Strong knowledge of purchasing highly specialized equipment for industrial operations.
· Experience with ERP systems (Oracle/JD Edwards EnterpriseOne) and e-procurement technologies.
· Excellent negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to manage supplier contracts, invoices, and compliance documentation.
· Strong analytical skills with a results-driven mindset.
· Valid Driver’s License required
