Systems Engineer supporting RWS development, integration, MBSE, testing, and production transition for complex defense systems onsite.

The Systems Engineer is responsible for ensuring Remote Weapon Station (RWS) system hardware and software are compatible and capable of meeting defined performance requirements. This role coordinates system development activities including design, development, integration, formal testing, and transition to production. The Systems Engineer develops and manages system specifications, technical and logistical requirements, and associated documentation to ensure effective program planning and execution. This position also manages system configurations and configuration documentation throughout the product lifecycle. This is an on-site position.

Minimum Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer technology, or a related technical field
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant systems engineering experience
  • Demonstrated experience with complex hardware development, network architecture, and system design
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong mathematical aptitude and exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to present technical information clearly and defend engineering decisions
  • Proficiency with common engineering software, programming languages, simulation tools, and test methodologies
  • Detailed understanding of gimbals, structures, force application and mitigation, IR and visual sensors, and semi-active laser sensors strongly preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong command of the English language
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor, train, and develop team members
  • Ability to travel as required

Major Responsibility Areas and Duties

  • Develop and manage system requirements, including requirements definition, traceability, verification, and compliance assessments
  • Support major design reviews through requirements validation and verification activities
  • Perform model-based systems engineering (MBSE) using structured technical planning and systems engineering tools
  • Lead system integration, verification, and validation efforts across the product development lifecycle
  • Track system performance metrics and manage the overall systems engineering process
  • Provide systems engineering design direction and support technical design reviews
  • Ensure all requirements are identified, captured, analyzed, and used to guide development activities
  • Coordinate systems engineering reviews throughout development, testing, and production transition
  • Lead developmental verification and validation activities and document analysis and test results to support requirements sign-off
  • Provide integrated logistics support through reliability, maintainability, and availability (RMA) analysis
  • Support new business efforts, including responses to RFQs, proposals, and technical inquiries
  • Collaborate with customers, internal engineering teams, and project management to define requirements and ensure alignment
  • Coordinate with project management on systems engineering, documentation, scheduling, quality, and risk activities
  • Perform other duties as assigned
