We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Senior Software Developer to support aerospace vehicle programs in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment. This position requires strong full-stack development expertise, sound software engineering practices, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with engineering teams and end users.
The successful candidate will contribute to the design, development, modernization, and maintenance of web-based applications and services that support aerospace vehicle manufacturing, ground support, and test operations. This role offers the opportunity to work directly with customers and technical teams to deliver innovative, scalable software solutions that support mission-critical operations.
This position is fully on-site in Huntsville, AL.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, maintain, and modernize web-based applications and web services supporting aerospace manufacturing, ground support, and test operations.
- Maintain and enhance existing .NET Framework applications while developing new solutions using .NET Core technologies.
- Develop and support SQL database structures, stored procedures, queries, and backend services.
- Maintain ASP.NET Core web services that implement mathematical models related to sensors and weapons systems.
- Collaborate with engineers, software developers, and customer stakeholders to improve tools, workflows, and processes.
- Gather requirements directly from end users and translate operational needs into effective software solutions.
- Perform full-stack development activities, including user interface development, backend service implementation, and database integration.
- Apply software engineering best practices to ensure scalability, maintainability, reliability, and code quality.
- Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve technical issues in a timely manner.
- Contribute innovative ideas and technical solutions that improve application performance and team effectiveness.
- Work effectively in a dynamic environment while managing priorities and maintaining attention to detail.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 10+ years of full-stack software development experience.
- Strong proficiency with:
- C#
- .NET Framework
- .NET Core / ASP.NET Core
- HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- SQL Server and relational database design
- Experience designing, developing, and maintaining web applications and web services.
- Familiarity with RESTful API design and development.
- Experience creating and supporting SQL database structures, queries, and backend services.
- Ability to work with advanced mathematical and physics-based concepts, including vector mathematics.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to quickly learn new technologies and adapt to evolving customer requirements.
- Self-directed and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills in a customer-facing environment.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
