Job Title: Industrial Engineer
Location: Onsite, Luling, TX
Position Type: Full-Time

About the Role:

We are seeking a talented and driven Industrial Engineer to support the design, development, integration, and maintenance of a solid rocket motor propellant manufacturing facility. This role plays a critical part in optimizing manufacturing processes, implementing lean and Six Sigma principles, and ensuring safe, efficient operations. The position directly supports mission-critical manufacturing and production activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and plan manufacturing equipment layouts within a facility
  • Design and plan product flow and movement between buildings
  • Implement lean manufacturing principles to minimize waste and streamline operations
  • Utilize Six Sigma methodologies to identify and eliminate production defects
  • Train and mentor staff on lean and Six Sigma practices to promote continuous improvement
  • Conduct time studies and develop discrete event simulations to optimize workflows and resource allocation
  • Perform trade studies to develop new and improved manufacturing processes for solid rocket motor production
  • Establish safe procedures for workstations involving hand tools in environments with energetic materials
  • Specify equipment to support production needs
  • Troubleshoot issues related to safety, quality, and cost within manufacturing processes
  • Evaluate processes and equipment for compliance with environmental and safety regulations
  • Estimate production costs for new products

Basic Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a manufacturing environment (experience with solid rocket motor propellant manufacturing preferred)
  • Experience designing and planning manufacturing layouts using lean and Six Sigma techniques
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification is a plus
  • Experience conducting time studies and implementing improvements on the shop floor
  • Experience with discrete event simulation tools (FlexSim preferred)
  • Knowledge of manufacturing methods, processes, and quality standards
  • Experience with support systems such as hydraulic systems, compressed air systems, electronic controls, and power systems
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven problem-solving ability
  • Knowledge of applicable health and safety regulations

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field required
  • Master’s degree may substitute for some experience
  • 5+ years of experience in industrial or process engineering preferred
